Asr Prayer Time — When Is Asr Today?
Asr is the third of the five daily prayers, prayed in the late afternoon. Its time begins when the shadow of an object equals its own length (in the majority view) and lasts until sunset. Asr is 4 rakah of obligatory prayer, with 4 sunnah rakah before it being recommended.
Asr is described in the Quran as "the middle prayer" (as-salat al-wusta) that Allah commands us to guard strictly. Missing Asr is gravely warned against in the Sunnah.
